April Fifteen Two Thousand Twelve

The weekend is coming to and end and there is less than two weeks of the school semester remaining. Students are preparing for finals and I should be doing the same by studying. Sundays usually start with church and my church service begins at 10 am. After struggling to get out of bed, I manage to get ready and put on a decently formal outfit and get myself to church. A little late, but better than not even showing up.

After the service is over, my friends from church and I grab a bite to eat at chipotle for lunch. I order a burrito bowl with rice, chicken and steak, pico de gallo, salsa verde, and corn. I don't like to put too much in my burrito bowl.

After lunch, my girlfriend, who came to church with me, and I get some dessert at a local frozen yogurt place. It is one of those places where you get the yogurt yourself and after sampling a few, we end up filling our cup with regular, island banana, and a swirl of sorbet. My girlfriend wanted to put some "Sour Patch Kids" as a topping so she grabbed about four or five and place them on top. After we finished, we walked to the pet store next door where they had a bunch of different puppies for sale. They were all very cute but the prices were ridiculous, going up to as much as $1200. I understand that some dogs are hard to breed but such a price is so ridiculous for a dog.

We came home and walked my two dogs, a maltese and a Retriever/Husky/Terrier mix. There names are Emma and Barkley, both girls. Emma is about four years old and Barkley is around six months. I finished off the day by going to the gym and playing basketball for a few hours.

This weekend, I spent a lot of time playing basketball and just relaxing with my friends. I should have probably spent more time studying for my upcoming finals and I will have to spend more time doing that throughout this next week. I am looking forward to the next step that I will be taking in my life during this summer, once I am finished with finals.

April Twelve Two Thousand Twelve

It was another strenuous day of sitting through lectures and trying to grasp some information while maintaining to stay awake. The day began with the alarm ringing at 7 am and me not wanting to get out of my bed. When I finally managed to do so, I got myself into the gym around 730 and began my daily workout to start off the day. This helps me with stress relief accumulated from school work.

My 11 am law class was an interesting one as my professor spoke about indecency for 75 minutes where we discussed our views on the public usage of curse words and offensive language in general through media. As I leaned my head against the wall while struggling to stay awake, I overcame the temptations and kept my eyes open throughout the lecture. Success.

At 1 pm, my Business Administration class consisted of tests that are assigned to future employees such as a drug test, psychology test, etc. Another moment of sleepiness tried to overcome me as I placed my head on the table, ready to shut my eyes for whatever was left of the lecture. Again, I managed to snap out of it and continue on with the lecture.

My last class of the day, I had to make a presentation and without really practicing it, like I should have, I busted through it and I think I did a fine job. My presentation was about Physical Education and the Curricular Issues in Elementary School. As a matter of fact, here is the link to My Presentation.

The rest of the day consisted of driving and basketball practice. As I reflect upon this day, I think to myself, "will what I did today, help me move toward what my goals are for the future?" And, fortunately, I can say yes. Whether it was exercise to better my personal health, lecture sessions to improve my knowledge on the course, or basketball practice, I spent a productive day in working towards being the person that I hope to be.

April Tenth Two Thousand Twelve

This is a temporary experimental blog for my IT 2010 Class. Day 1 of 3

As an undergraduate student, the goal of one day possibly earning a decent living is the common norm. Today is a Tuesday and it marks a day where I spend much of my morning and afternoon in lectures, hoping to learn something new in my life.

I am studying Exercise Science and plan on earning my degree towards Physical Therapy. With Journalism as my minor, I started off the morning with my Communication and Law class which is basically 75 minutes of talking about court cases. Today was an interesting day as we spent about 65 of those minutes talking about online pornography. Not being the talkative type, I was once again very quiet and ready to hear what my professor had to say about pornography. It's very interesting to find that there is not much protection on pornography and based on how the students were reacting, it is not a very comfortable topic.

The class that I go to after is BUSA 2106, also known as Business Administration. This is just a boring core class that I'm trying to get through where we talk about laws and what rights we have and basically how we can sue someone or defend ourselves from when we get sued. While my eyelids were extra heavy this afternoon, I tried to maintain my attention towards the lecture and was able to gain some sort of knowledge out of it but I can't seem to recall any of the material that I learned. I do know that he likes to use Delta Airlines as a popular topic for his examples.

My final class of the day, before commuting an hour back home, is KH 2130 or Kinesiology and Healthy on Physical Education, Fitness, and Sport. Just another presentation day where about five students provided power points and the rest of us slaved away while taking "Cornell" notes on the information. It's interesting how 85% of our presentations are concerned with childhood obesity and how unhealthy this country is constantly getting. We really do need to pay more attention to finding ways to keep our youths healthy and active.
